More disabled students are gaining access to higher education. Several laws have made this possible, notably the law of February 11, 2005, which guarantees the right to compensation for disability. In addition to this general legal framework, most disability situations require an individualized response, taking into account the specific needs of students and facilitating their inclusion in the university community, while respecting the rights and duties of each individual.

This is the case for students with autism spectrum disorders. These disorders are manifested in particular by impairments in the ability to establish social interactions and by maladaptive behaviors.
Cognitive difficulties may be associated with them, but they are far from systematic: it's up to us to ensure that these young autistic people with no intellectual deficits progress through their university curriculum, in a context that is often not very conducive, since it mobilizes social skills - in group work, for example.

Through testimonies and theoretical contributions, the "Autism and Higher Education" evening debate will provide an opportunity to discuss the difficulties faced by these students, to look at how they are supported in their studies, and to provide some keys to better mutual understanding.
