Françoise Barré-Sinoussi Student Center (Triolet), Place Eugène Bataillon, Montpellier.
A presentation of the creative process behind the show “Dancing in My Little Living Room Without Asking Myself Any Questions,” followed by a discussion with the audience.
Hosted by:
- Maxime Potard, writer and actor with the Muerto Coco International Troupe;
- Leonardo Montecchia, choreographer and director for the Compagnie de La Mentira.
The evening will conclude with a social gathering.
Artist Maxime Potard, currently in a micro-residency at UM, accompanied by choreographer Leonardo Montecchia, will give us a glimpse into a stage of his work-in-progress, *Danser dans mon petit salon sans me poser de question* (Dancing in My Little Living Room Without Asking Myself Questions), a poetic exploration that examines the concept of masculinity. This presentation will be followed by a discussion with the audience on gender stereotypes and education, to understand how certain social constructs lead to the normalization of violence. This discussion will be punctuated by the reading of anonymous testimonials collected from UM students during interviews conducted on November 23 and 24.
