“On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, I happened to walk past a flea market. My gaze fell on a painted canvas. It was *The Origin of the World*. It was a rather poorly executed copy, lying on the pavement between a bicycle wheel and a set of small silver spoons. I thought to myself that for just a few euros, I’d love to add it to my collection of miscellaneous objects, all patiently waiting for their moment to appear in an upcoming show.”
