Street science, the greener city!
This event is over!
The University of Montpellier offers a new science walk to visit, play and learn: Launch of the "Street science plus verte la ville!" exhibition.
Street science, plus verte la ville! is a scientific walk that tackles a crucial issue of our time: greening the city. It invites you to discover the challenges and benefits of a greener city in terms of well-being, health, urban biodiversity, the fight against heat islands, water management and urban agriculture.
It also leads us to reflect on the choices that need to be made in the species used, so that a greener city is not a city where allergies and infectious vector-borne diseases are more frequent. This scientific itinerary, full of surprises, is open to all and offered free of charge in the Jardin des plantes de Montpellier.
This exhibition allows all audiences to :
- visit Montpellier's Jardin des Plantes ;
- play as you search for panels and images that will reveal their secrets in augmented reality using a smartphone and the Street Science application;
- Learn about the challenges of greening cities: why is it important to build a greener city for tomorrow? What are the points to bear in mind when greening a city?
