Alternative models in vitro, ex-ovo and organisms: from research to applications in pathologies and aging.
July 7, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Faculty of Pharmacy, Amphitheatre B
Alternative methods to animal experimentation, whose technical and financial constraints are proving increasingly onerous, represent a promising approach to the evaluation of new treatments for chronic diseases and the pathologies of aging. The development of these new models is a real challenge to meet societal concerns through an ethical approach aimed at reducing, optimizing and replacing (3Rs: reduce, refine, replace) the use of animals for scientific purposes.
The Société Française de Pharmacie de la Méditerranée Latine (SFPML) is well aware of the value of such an approach, and has agreed to add this symposium to the XIVth day of its national meetings.
This international symposium is organized in collaboration with members of INSERM (U 1058) and CNRS (UMR 5247) in Montpellier.
This working group was set up to look at the value of alternative in vitro methods, and is the driving force behind this symposium, which will cover cellular studies, reconstructed skin and skin biopsy studies, ex-ovo methods and, finally, new model organisms.
