Information Literacy Tutoring 2022–2023: University Libraries Are Hiring
This event has already taken place!
The University of Montpellier is recruiting library tutors who are at least in their first year of a master’s program or in their fourth year of a health sciences program for the Richter, Health, and Science libraries for the period from September 2022 to May 2023.
Being a tutor at a university library means:
- welcome and assist undergraduate students in getting to know the university libraries and their services, as well as in their research;
- help design and lead training sessions (in-person workshops, tutorials, distance learning) on information resources, in conjunction with subject-specific courses;
- develop expertise in the digital tools provided by the university libraries and help promote their use among students.
Above all, it’s about enjoying sharing your experience and skills, and developing your interpersonal and teaching skills.
The library tutoring program leads to an institutional diploma in “Training for the Role of Qualified Tutor” (upon completion of an internship) and subsequently to a paid contract.
