Call for Training Projects for 2023 and Leave for Educational Projects (CPP)
The University of Montpellier is launching a 2023 call for training project proposals.

This program includes 3 calls for proposals:
AAP-PEI (I-SITE Excellence Program)
Focused on raising awareness and educating students about the challenges of the ecological transition, transforming teaching practices and fostering experimentation, promoting interdisciplinary approaches in curricula, and supporting artistic and cultural initiatives within academic programs
Open to academic departments (UFRs), schools, institutes, and the ENSCM, as well as I-SITE partners
1. OBJECTIVE
Continuing its efforts to promote educational initiatives and innovations, the University of Montpellier and its partners are launching a call for proposals for the 2023 PEI Training Program, which will focus on two main areas:
- The first priority area, in line with theUM values and mission statementUM the major societal challenges of “Feeding, Caring for, and Protecting,” and in accordance with the conclusions of the Jouzel report, will focus on initiatives to raise awareness and provide training for students on the challenges of the ecological transition
- The second focus area will concern the enhancement of curricula and teaching practices and will be divided into three components:
- support for the transformation of teaching practices and educational experimentation
- support for interdisciplinary approaches in academic programs
- support for artistic and cultural activities in educational programs
2. ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
- Overtime for teachers, faculty members, and Professors
- Fixed-term contracts (CDD) required for the implementation of the project (contractual BIATS positions, temporary teaching staff other than ATER and ATE)
- Operating expenses directly related to project support
- Small items of equipment costing around 1,500 € and in compliance with public procurement regulations (examples: computers, construction equipment, etc.)
- Missions
- Outsourced professional and specialized consulting services, service provision
- Actors' Training in Teaching
- Costs associated with communicating, promoting, and disseminating educational innovation
- Initiatives to share and disseminate teaching experiences
3. TARGET AUDIENCES
- The teaching staff of the UFRs, schools, and institutes within the I-SITE consortium
- Project leaders planning initiatives involving digital education or educational transformation should first contact their DSIN or SCSIP, as appropriate.
Projects must be submitted exclusively by the deans of academic units, schools, or institutes, who will rank the projects from their respective units or institutions in order of priority. Applications must be submitted in PDF format using the attached template.
4. SELECTION PROCEDURES
Resources will be allocated based on five main factors:
- The educational impact and, in particular, the relevance of the project in light of the challenges of the program in question
- The Feasibility of Implementing the Project
- The project’s impact on the university’s visibility and reputation
- The proposal’s potential for replication in other programs, departments, etc.
- The respective sizes of the 19 entities involved (faculties, schools, institutes; ENSCM; Institut Agro Montpellier; CIHEAM-IAMM)
Project duration: The project may begin as soon as notification is received in 2023 and must be completed by the end of the 2024 calendar year.
Projects will be evaluated by external experts whenever possible.
The evaluation committee will be chaired by the VPFVU and will consist of the Vice President for Digital Technology in Education, the director of the SCSIP and experts from the SCSIP, experts from the DSIN-SUN, a representative from the Institut Agro Montpellier, and a representative from the ENSCM.
For Priority Area 1, the committee will be joined by the Vice President for Environmental Issues.
For Priority Area 2, the committee will be joined by the head of the Art & Culture Department.
5. SCHEDULE
- Publication of the call for proposals: December 14, 2022
- Application deadline: no later than March 9, 2023, by 12 p.m.
- Results and allocation of funds: late April 2023
6. FINANCIAL RESOURCES
The budget allocated to the three initiatives under this call for proposals is €630,000. Selected projects may receive funding during the calendar years 2023 and 2024.
Note: Three calls for proposals (PEI, CNUMF, PROPEDA) are being issued according to the same schedule. A project may be submitted to only one of these calls.
In support of calls for proposals, teachers and Professors may submit requests for educational project leave (CPP).

AAP-PROPEDA ( UM Institutional Program)
This year’s focus is on supporting new students in their academic success
. Open to allUM faculties, schools, and institutes.
1. OBJECTIVE
Many factors contribute to student success, and several support programs have been implemented at the University (bridge courses, tutoring, review weeks, etc.). To strengthen existing programs* and test new ones, the University is launching a call for PROPEDA projects designed to support first-year students. In particular, the projects will aim to help students adapt to academic requirements and methodologies—including those specific to their disciplines—and to strengthen their motivation and learning techniques, among other goals.
*excluding tutoring, which has its own budget

AAP-CNUMF (Digital Training Program)
The call for proposals titled “Digital Technology for Training” is open from December 14, 2022, through March 9, 2023, before 12:00 p.m. It focuses on four types of projects:
- Development of new, advanced digital educational resources
- Digital Technology for the Benefit of evaluations (peer review, skills assessment, etc.)
- Bimodal Hybrid Learning
- MOOC
Leave for Educational Projects (CPP)
The application process for educational project leave (CPP) follows the same timeline as calls for proposals. However, it is independent of calls for proposals and of whether a proposal is successful. In other words, it is possible to submit a CPP application without it being linked to a response to a call for proposals. Success in a call for proposals does not result in the automatic award of a CPP, as the award procedures follow separate processes.

A project may be submitted only once in response to one of these calls for proposals.
