Steering committee for the ecological transition master plan: driving action forward
The first steering committee meeting for the ecological transition master plan (SDTE) was held on November 15, 2024. Bringing together all of the University's vice presidents, it was led by President Philippe Augé and Vice President for Environmental Issues Frédérique Carcaillet.

The SDTE steering committee, which brings together all of the University's political stakeholders, aims to provide political guidance for the implementation of actions in support of ecological transition. These meetings also provide an opportunity to look to the future and define new actions to be taken, thereby bringing to life the University's ecological transition policy. This committee also serves as a platform for dialogue and exchange to address more complex actions and identify areas for improvement.
The SDTE is concerned with developing training programs that better address the challenges of ecological transition. Given the diversity and multitude of disciplines, supporting the greening of teaching units and training programs is a real challenge that often requires specific approaches. In addition, questions have been raised about the training of teachers and Professors, who are already heavily burdened by their multiple responsibilities: how can we create conditions conducive to the training of trainers?
The SDTE steering committee acts as a key hub in the UM's ecological transition process. By promoting dialogue and monitoring the actions undertaken, it enables progress to be assessed and future initiatives to be prepared. Through its role as a platform for exchange, it is essential for identifying solutions and sustaining the University's efforts in the area of sustainable development.
