Ecological transition master plan steering committee: driving action
The first steering committee meeting for the Ecological Transition Master Plan (SDTE) was held on November 15, 2024. Bringing together all the University's vice-presidents, it was chaired by President Philippe Augé and Frédérique Carcaillet, the vice-president responsible for environmental issues.

The purpose of the SDTE steering committee, which brings together all the University's political players, is to ensure the political steering of the implementation of actions deployed in favor of the ecological transition. These meetings are also opportunities to look to the future and define new actions to be deployed, thereby bringing the University's ecological transition policy to life. The committee is also a platform for dialogue and exchange, to address the more complex actions to be implemented and identify levers for improvement.
One of the SDTE's concerns is to ensure that training courses take greater account of the challenges of the ecological transition. Given the diversity and multitude of disciplines involved, supporting the greening of teaching and training units represents a real challenge, often requiring specific approaches. In addition, questions have been raised concerning the training of teachers and teacher-researchers, who are already stretched to the limit by their multiple responsibilities: how can we create the right conditions for the training of trainers?
The SDTE steering committee is a key point in the UM's ecological transition process. By promoting dialogue and monitoring the actions undertaken, it enables us to take stock of progress and prepare for future initiatives. Through its role as a platform for exchange, it is essential for identifying solutions and perpetuating the University's efforts in the field of sustainable development.
