Free training series on high-performance computing
For the second consecutive year, starting in October 2016, the MESO@LR center is offering a free training series open to all on the topic of “high-performance computing (HPC).” The series consists of a two-hour monthly lecture over a nine-month period at the University of Montpellier’s Triolet campus.
The goal of this training program is to introduce participants to and/or deepen their understanding of computing and data-related topics (HPC, Big Data). It is designed for researchers, doctoral students, engineers, industry professionals, and others from all fields—ranging from those new to the subject to those seeking to expand their knowledge.
The conference will cover a wide range of topics, featuring presentations on hardware, tools, and application examples. The speakers will include industry professionals as well as users from various fields.
This training session is open to everyone, but free registration is required. Each session is independent.
The first session, held on October 10, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., will focus on a presentation of the data center:
“Introduction to MESO@LR systems: How to submit and run your first job”.

This first session will also provide an opportunity to showcase the equipment currently being installed—the MUSE Cluster (MESO project)—which is funded by the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region and the Montpellier Méditerranée Metropolitan Area as part of the 2015–2020 Regional Economic Contract (CPER).
