Two scholarships from the Tronc-Chanal Foundation awarded to two residents at the Montpellier-Nîmes School of Medicine
The University of Montpellier and its School of Medicine were pleased to celebrate the awarding of two grants from the Tronc-Chanal Foundation to Coralie Roche and Antoine Mathivet, residents at the Montpellier-Nîmes School of Medicine. The ceremony took place in the presence of Dean Isabelle Laffont and Ms. Christine Tronc-Chanal, president and founder of the foundation.

A ceremony marked by excellence and dedication
Joining the honorees were Patricia Reboul, representing the graduate school; Professor François Carbonnel; several residents from the faculty; Illies Ouhab, representative of the Languedoc-Roussillon Residents’ Union; as well as the recipients’ families and friends. This event, marked by a spirit of camaraderie and appreciation, highlighted the academic and personal achievements of the young doctors trained at the University of Montpellier.
The Tronc-Chanal Foundation: Supporting Talent for the Future
Under the auspices of the Fondation de France, the Fondation Tronc-Chanal is dedicated to supporting students majoring in French literature and language, as well as in medicine. It provides one-time financial assistance to students who are well into their studies, with the aim of encouraging them in their pursuit of excellence.
Each year, the Foundation awards:
- a prize of 2,000 euros to a recent Ph.D. graduate in literature;
- two scholarships of 1,000 euros each to medical residents at the Faculty of Medicine in Montpellier-Nîmes.
These scholarships are intended for medical residents who have passed the residency exam and wish to continue their residency training at another university.
The recipients of the Tronc-Chanal Foundation award
For several years now, the Foundation has been recognizing medical students at the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine for the quality of their career plans. The executive committee is composed of specialists from both fields, with half representing literature and half representing medicine.
