Conference on “Biodiversity Research and Management in Times of Ecological Crisis”

BiodivOc and AdNaturaare teaming up to host two days of events at the intersection of biodiversity research and management: a symposium and a career and training fair for the ecology and biodiversity sector. Over the course of these two days, students and professionals from the sector will take turns presenting a variety of talks and activities. December 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Institute of Botany and the Saint-Charles site in Montpellier. Registration required.

Scientific discourse and interdisciplinary exchanges at the BiodivOc conference

The BiodivOc conference offers two intensive days of scientific discussion and interdisciplinary exchange, open to the public. This event aims to address the challenges faced by those working to promote biodiversity. Participants—whether experts, researchers, students, or engaged citizens—will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences, thereby fostering a constructive and enriching dialogue.

Objective: To provide an overview of biodiversity challenges and discuss strategies and various collaborative approaches that can be implemented to address the current ecological crisis. This conference is intended to be a space for dialogue and collaboration, where ideas can be freely exchanged. By bringing together diverse and complementary perspectives, the BiodivOc conference aims to foster a constructive dynamic and encourage collective action for a more sustainable and biodiversity-friendly future.

At the intersection of careers and training programs in the field of ecology and biodiversity

AdNatura is organizing roundtable discussions on careers related to the major challenges of the ecological transition and biodiversity loss. The discussions will cover various topics, such as emerging careers in the environmental sector, the technical and soft skills required, and forward-looking training programs that prepare future professionals to tackle environmental challenges.

At the same time, students in the Master’s 2 program in Environmental and Biodiversity Management at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Montpellier, who are members of the “Salon de l’Écologie” association, will lead sessions to raise awareness about eco-responsibility. They will also offer interactive activities and meet-and-greet sessions throughout the year, aimed at promoting good environmental practices and encouraging active engagement in the protection of biodiversity.

By bringing together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, this career and training fair aims to foster collaboration and promote a better understanding of the opportunities within the industry, as well as to help future professionals enter the workforce more successfully.
