Days devoted to “research and management of biodiversity in times of ecological crisis”

BiodivOc and AdNaturaare joining forces to offer two days at the interface between research and biodiversity management: a conference and a trade fair for careers and training in the ecology and biodiversity sector. During these two days, students and professionals from the sector will take turns to offer a wide range of presentations and activities. December 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Institute of Botany and the Saint-Charles site in Montpellier. Registration required.

Scientific reflection and transdisciplinary exchanges at the BiodivOc conference

The BiodivOc conference offers two intense days of scientific reflection and cross-disciplinary discussions open to the public. This event aims to address the issues faced by those working to protect biodiversity. Participants, whether experts, researchers, students, or engaged citizens, will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences, thereby promoting constructive and enriching dialogue.

Objective: to provide an overview of biodiversity challenges and discuss strategies and different common approaches that can be implemented to respond to the current ecological crisis. This conference is intended to be a space for dialogue and collaboration, where ideas can be freely exchanged. By bringing together diverse and complementary perspectives, the BiodivOc conference aims to foster a constructive dynamic and encourage collective action for a more sustainable and biodiversity-friendly future.

At the crossroads of careers and training in the ecology and biodiversity sector

AdNatura organizes round tables on professions related to the major challenges of ecological transition and biodiversity loss. Various aspects will be discussed, such as new emerging careers in the ecology sector, the technical and cross-disciplinary skills required, and future-oriented training programs that prepare future professionals to meet environmental challenges.

At the same time, students in the Master's 2 program in Environmental and Biodiversity Management at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Montpellier, members of the "salon de l'écologie" association, will lead sessions to raise awareness of eco-responsibility. They will also offer interactive activities and meetings throughout the year, aimed at promoting good environmental practices and encouraging active commitment to the protection of biodiversity.

By bringing together stakeholders from various backgrounds, this crossroads of professions and training programs aims to create synergies and promote a better understanding of opportunities in the sector, as well as better integration of future professionals.
