A donation of €121,000 will be made to the Jardin des Plantes endowment fund. The announcement was made to the press on the bangs of the foundation's gala dinner, in the presence of : Nicolas Chambon, Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors and President of Socri Reim; Michaël Delafosse, Mayor of Montpellier and President of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole; and Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier.
Work scheduled for autumn 2024
This sum is in addition to the two previous sponsorship campaigns, which raised €60,000 in 2022 and €77,000 in 2023. This first phase has enabled us to carry out the diagnostics and draw up the recommendations essential for safeguarding the Jardin des Plantes' century-old trees. Work will start in autumn 2024.
Created in September 2021 by Socri Reim, the Ceïba foundation aims to advise local authorities on the development of nature in urban environments and to implement actions to renaturalize, revegetate, desiltrate soils, reduce heat islands, and improve the water cycle. These efforts are designed to help combat global warming and promote sustainable development.
