Artists take over the university
The University of Montpellier is enjoying a rich artistic start to the academic year, welcoming choreographer Leonardo Montecchia, visual artist Armelle Caron, and illustrator Ganaëlle Maury, who will be creating an in situ work at the Faculty of Education.

The residency of the Cie de la Mentira, hosted by the University of Montpellier in 2015/2016 and co-financed by the DRAC Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées, is being extended this fall.
Three performances of his show (In)Utile. Beyond Utility are scheduled for November.

The Faculty of Education is hosting this artist from September to November for the creation of an in situ work on the walls of the cultural space: Drawing in progress / I love you now.
The work in progress takes center stage: students, staff, and the general public will be able to watch this charcoal work being created at certain times.
- From September 19 to October 5, the artist will be drawing on the walls "live."
- From October 6 to 22, the cultural center returns to a more traditional function with an exhibition.
During the performance, the Cultural Center will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. / during the exhibition, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Visual artist Armelle Caron: 2016/2017 artist residency "graphic"
Selected for the 2016/2017 residency on the theme of graphic design, she will work more specifically with the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Economics and AES, ISEM, and certain departments of the Faculty of Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.).
The presentation will take place in spring 2017, and throughout the year, drawing workshops will be organized in connection with his artistic approach and/or the residency project. They will be offered to UM students and staff.
