The Nîmes University Institute of Technology (IUT) is hosting the 9th edition of the Civil Engineering & Sustainable Construction Challenge for civil engineering departments at French IUTs.

The buildings of tomorrow are eco-friendly, taking into account their environment, urban mobility, the sustainability of materials and their reuse, as well as technological advances in the construction industry. To build them, every two years, civil engineering students from French universities and construction professionals come together for the Civil Engineering & Sustainable Construction Challenge.

From June 10 to 12, several teams from each IUT presented their ideas and solutions to the challenge to professionals, partners, and event judges at booths, using models and educational posters. This was an opportunity for them to test their skills against the expectations of professionals and showcase their expertise through innovative projects rooted in the environmental challenges facing the sector. The three days were accompanied by sporting and cultural challenges as well as practical workshops to allow students to relax and get to know each other outside of the competition.

This challenge, which combines competition, collaboration, and innovation, concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing the most rigorous and creative teams, marking the end of an event rich in exchanges and perspectives for the construction of tomorrow.
