IUT Montpellier-Sète hosts the "Challenge mesures physiques

The Challenge national mesures physiques, named this year "Sous le vent de Neptune", will take place at the University of Montpellier's IUT Montpellier-Sète from March 17 to 19. Since 2009, the twenty-nine physical measurement departments of France's Instituts Universitaires de Technologie have been organizing this national scientific and technological event, focusing on measurement and metrology.

The challenge in a nutshell

Winner in 2022, the Montpellier-Sète IUT has traditionally organized the 2023 edition of the Challenge mesures physiques, which will take place at home from March 17 to 19. The event will bring together a dozen teams of 5 second-year physical measurements students and their supervisors from all over France. During the event, participants are invited to compare their year's work on the design and implementation of transportable, automated measurement systems.

For this year's event, the IUT Montpellier-Sète has chosen some of our region's favorite themes: the tramontana, salt flats, sand, beer and handball. Over the course of two days, teams will be demonstrating and exchanging their skills in the design, development and instrumentation of their own sensors, while following precise specifications. On the day of the competition, March 18, each team will present its measurement systems to a jury of teachers and professionals, in the hope of winning the coveted Celsius Shield.
