UM Celebrates Its Champions

On December 3, the University of Montpellier honored the student athletes who represented the university at the French University Championships. Nearly 150 of them made it onto the podium, with 13 taking the top spot. Here are profiles of these champions across all disciplines.

The University of Montpellier gathered its top athletes at the Motte-Rouge gymnasium. Despite the cold on this evening at the end of the year, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It was an opportunity for everyone to come together outside of training and competition to look back on the events of the past season. It was a fantastic season for the University of Montpellier, which saw nearly 150 students take the podium at the French University Championships across a wide range of disciplines (see box). While not all athletes were able to make the trip to attend the ceremony, nearly 90 came to collect their gifts—symbolic tokens of the pride they have inspired at the university, whose colors they have carried so high.
