TheUM is rolling out its range of training programs

UM . put on a colorful display at the higher education fair, held from January 15 to 17, 2026, by L’Étudiant at the convention center. Despite inclement weather, high school students, parents, and college students turned out in force, confirming the importance of this annual event in the college admissions process.

At the heart of this momentum, the University of Montpellier—with its 657 national and institutional degrees—is asserting its position as a major player in higher education in the region. At a booth spanning more than 300 m², the university presented a completely revamped layout, featuring a more open, colorful, and airy design than in previous years, which encouraged visitor flow and enhanced the quality of interactions.

Designed first and foremost as a welcoming space, the University of Montpellier’s booth highlighted the diversity of its constituent units, academic programs, and academic pathways. In a deliberately minimalist setting, visitors were able to gather information, engage in conversation, and refine their career plans in an environment conducive to discussion and decision-making.

At the fair, the L’Étudiant group named Montpellier the second-best student city to live in, just behind Toulouse. This recognition highlights the city’s appeal and the collective commitment of its higher education institutions, among which theUM plays a central role, both in terms of its educational offerings and its deep roots in the local community.

The higher education fair is thus a key step in the college planning process and sets the stage for a major event: the University of Montpellier’s Open House, scheduled for February 14. On this occasion, all of the University of Montpellier’s constituent institutions (UM ) will welcome the public to their campuses, offering prospective students and their families the opportunity to continue their discussions, explore the campuses, and see how their plans align with the realities of university life.
