UM is rolling out its range of training programs

The UM presented a colorful booth at the higher education fair, held from January 15 to 17, 2026, by L’Étudiant at the convention center. Despite inclement weather, high school students, parents, and college students turned out in force, confirming the importance of this annual event in the college admissions process.

At the heart of this dynamic, the University of Montpellier, with its 657 national and institutional degree programs, has cemented its position as a major player in higher education in the region. With a booth spanning over 300 square meters, the university unveiled a completely revamped layout, featuring a more open, colorful, and airy design than in previous years, which encouraged visitor flow and fostered meaningful interactions.

Designed primarily as a welcoming space, the University of Montpellier’s booth highlighted the diversity of its constituent units, academic programs, and degree paths. In a deliberately minimalist setting, visitors were able to gather information, engage in conversation, and refine their career plans in an environment conducive to discussion and decision-making.

At the fair, the L’Étudiant group ranked Montpellier as the second-best city for students to live in, just behind Toulouse. This recognition highlights the city’s appeal and the collective commitment of its higher education institutions, among which the University of Montpellier (UM) plays a central role, both in terms of its academic offerings and its strong ties to the local community.

The higher education fair is thus a key milestone in the college planning process and paves the way for a major event: the University of Montpellier’s Open House, scheduled for February 14. On this occasion, all of UM’s constituent units will welcome the public to their campuses, offering prospective students and their families the opportunity to continue their discussions, explore the facilities, and compare their plans with the realities of university life.
