The decree of May 19, 2026, regarding “the procedures for tuition fee exemptions for international students” amends the regulatory framework and introduces new provisions for students who wish to enroll at the University of Montpellier. Until now, in accordance with existing regulations, the University of Montpellier could grant a partial exemption from tuition fees to all non-EU students. From now on, tuition fees are redefined and regulated by the decree’s entry into force. What are differentiated tuition fees? Differentiated tuition fees, which are now mandatory, are part of the national policy for welcoming international students. They consist of applying specific tuition fees to certain non-EU students.
