A l'UM la science [S01-ep08]: From zebrafish regeneration to the end-of-year best-of

This week, Farida Djouad, Director of Research atInserm, talks about the fabulous powers of zebrafish. In the second half of the program, we bring you a compilation of our best reports.

There are clowns, cats, moons, pilots, reds and mandarins, but the one we're interested in is a funny zebra. Always dressed to the nines in his striped suit, his flipper always well groomed, he's what scientists call a model organism.

The zebrafish is a highly sought-after creature for research, thanks to a small number of special features that we'll take a moment to explain. This time, it reveals a new superpower: the ability to self-regenerate after the amputation of one of its limbs. Danio, as he's known, is sure to be the hero of the next DC Comics.

At the end of the show, to bid farewell to 2021, we present a short medley of our various reports: the quarantine insect platform, patient robots, the anatomy museum and the Restinclières seismograph.

At UM la science you've got the program, here we go!
