"Sciences en images : la vie est belle", a large-format exhibition at the heart of the Jardin des plantes

From September 29 to October 31, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the MRI (Montpellier Ressources Imagerie) academic imaging and cytometry platform is staging a unique exhibition of large-format microscopy photographs. It invites the public to discover the poetry of the world of the infinitely small, among the tall trees of the Jardin des plantes.

By invitation only

The world of life is beautiful, and the appeal of microscopy images extends far beyond the scientific community. The "Sciences en images : la vie est belle" exhibition features 40 large-format photos illustrating the work of the 800 scientists who use the instruments on the MRI platform. Animal, plant, unicellular being? Selected for their aesthetic qualities, these images invite us to dream as much as they question. Each photo indicates its source and the aim pursued by the scientists at the time of capture.

Art and science in symbiosis

Art and science seek to reveal the invisible and the unknown. The photos on display show that science is more than reason and rigor. Like art, they can provoke emotion and inspire dreams. This exhibition, which brings together art and science, aims to create new connivances between scientists and the general public.
