“Science in Pictures: Life is Beautiful,” a large-scale exhibition in the heart of the Jardin des Plantes
From September 29 to October 31, to mark its 20th anniversary, the academic imaging and cytometry platform MRI (Montpellier Ressources Imagerie) is hosting a unique exhibition of large-format microscopy photographs. It invites the public to discover the poetry of the infinitely small world among the tall trees of the Jardin des Plantes.
By invitation only
The living world is beautiful, and the appeal of microscopy images extends far beyond the scientific community. The exhibition "Science in Pictures: Life is Beautiful" consists of 40 large-format photos illustrating the work of 800 scientists who use the MRI platform's instruments. Animal, plant, single-celled organism? Selected for their aesthetic qualities, these images invite both reverie and questioning. Each photo indicates its source and the goal pursued by the scientists at the time it was taken.

Art and science in harmony
Art and science seek to reveal the invisible and the unknown. The photos on display show that science is not just about reason and rigor. Like art, it can provoke emotion and inspire dreams. This exhibition, which brings together art and science, aims to create new connections between scientists and the general public.
