Street Science: the "Greener City" exhibition at the Jardin des Plantes is still open for visitors!
Since May 24, the University of Montpellier has been inviting young and old alike to discover the Street Science, Greener City! exhibition, a new augmented reality scientific tour set up in the heart of Montpellier's Jardin des Plantes.

Exposure to a specific objective
This scientific stroll tackles a crucial issue of our time: the greening of cities. It invites visitors to discover the benefits of a greener city for well-being, health, urban biodiversity, the fight against heat islands, water management, and even urban agriculture. It also encourages us to think about the choices that need to be made in terms of the species used, so that a greener city does not become a city where allergies and vector-borne infectious diseases are more common.
For this occasion, Mathieu Sicard, professor at UM, will be available until August 3 to welcome the press and introduce them to the exhibition. To arrange a visit, please send him an email.
A scientific journey full of surprises!
This scientific itinerary allows all audiences to:
- Discover or rediscover Montpellier's botanical garden,
- Play by searching for the 12 panels that will reveal their secrets in augmented reality using a smartphone and the free Street Science app.
- Learn about the challenges of urban greening: why is it important to build a greener city for tomorrow? What are the key considerations when greening a city?
The Street Science mobile app offers augmented reality urban treasure hunts, providing a fun way to discover and learn. All of the scientific content in Street Science, a greener city! was designed by researchers at KIM RIVE (Risks & Vectors) as part of its "One Health" approach focused on sustainable vector risk management and its implications for human health and the environment.
