A more visible training offering for users

At a time when students are making their Parcoursup applications, the University of Montpellier is continuing to fine-tune the way it displays its range of courses, thanks to a new web portal. For several months, this project has mobilized the 17 UFRs, schools and institutes, as well as numerous departments and divisions. François Mirabel, Director of SCUIO-IP, provides an update.

Streamlined design, advanced search engine to find information quickly, new navigation menus, filtered display of search results...

François Mirabel, Director of SCUIO-IP, comments: "This new version focuses on simplicity to enhance the visibility of our training offer, better showcase content and simplify the user experience . With this new web portal, we wanted to collectively create an innovative display that would make our training courses even easier to understand for different audiences. The presentation is designed to be more ergonomic and intuitive, making it easier for students to navigate .

The UM offers its 50,000 students more than 250 national diplomas and 300 university degrees.

Promoting synergies between players

The site has been redesigned to provide as much useful information as possible: a table of coursesoffered, expected knowledge and skills, success rates for each course, student testimonials, job opportunities and professional integration, etc. In line with the request from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research Research, state-approved courses and programs are highlighted by a label. Interfaces and user paths have been designed to meet the expectations of different audiences: high school students, university students, families, international partners, socio-economic players, research organizations.... "The site has been designed to be responsive: it adapts to all types of support (computer, tablet, mobile) and thus meets the expectations of the different audiences likely to consult it. It also incorporates an English translation solution which, thanks to deep learning, offers more precise and relevant results ," explains François Mirabel.

An essential point when you consider that the University of Montpellier has almost 16% international students, contributing to intercultural dialogue and the spread of knowledge.
