Content type: Page
The University of Montpellier promotes partnerships between its research laboratories and the socio-economic world through internal mechanisms or by responding to external calls for projects that encourage such collaborations and foster innovation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaRlZH4Ayws Approximately 350 contracts are signed each year between the University of Montpellier and its academic or industrial partners in the form of research collaborations, service agreements, consortium agreements (ANR, Horizon Europe, etc.), provision of equipment, licensing agreements, co-ownership regulations, and even start-up hosting. How can a company establish an R&D partnership with a research laboratory? A Research partnership Research a laboratory and a company can take the form of: A research collaboration A service provision, drawing in particular on the expertise of the University of Montpellier's technology platforms How can a company employee join a Research laboratory Research Montpellier University offers the Companies And Campus program, which aims to increase the presence of socio-economic actors on campus by dedicating funding. This program aims to facilitate the establishment of new partnerships, including the arrival of company employees or entrepreneurs with business creation projects, in research structures around a topic of common interest. What measures are in place to strengthen exchanges between Research laboratories Research companies? There are many measures designed to strengthen exchanges between research laboratories and the socio-economic world or to promote the employment of PhD graduates in companies: At the regional level: actions can be funded under the Regional Plan for Higher Education, Research Innovation. At the national level: calls for projects are issued by the ANR (Labcom, PRCE, etc.),  BPI France, other foundations, or the CIFRE program, which allows companies to receive financial assistance to recruit doctoral students. At the European level: calls for projects are issued through the Horizon Europe research and innovation funding program. Teams at the University of Montpellier assist the scientific community in finding the most suitable program. How can a company be hosted at the University? As part of the establishment of a research contract with one of the institution's laboratories, UM provides premises to entrepreneurs or young companies less than two years old. This allows the companies hosted to be on campus close to research facilities and our technology platforms. This provision of premises, for which a fee is charged, may not exceed a total hosting period of six years. By contributing to Research development, the government allows companies to benefit from tax advantages. The University of Montpellier has the necessary accreditations to enable these socio-economic partners to benefit from the Research Collaboration Tax Credit and/or the Research Tax Credit.
