UM committed to responsible research practices, as evidenced by several key initiatives: an open science policy featuring the HAL portal, a charter for the authorship of scientific publications, a charter on scientific integrity, and the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol in research projects. Libraries and Documentation The University of Montpellier has entrusted its Joint Documentation Service with the development and management of its collection of resources and library services to support you throughout your studies and facilitate your success. Learn more Open Science In late 2019, the University of Montpellier aligned itself with the national policy for reproducible science. Through this dedicated website, explore the comprehensive plan implemented by the University, led by the Vice President for Open Science and Research Data Research made possible through collaboration among numerous cross-functional departments and divisions. Learn more Research data The University of Montpellier coordinates several initiatives to support the management and use of research data. The EcoDoR workshop (toward a research data ecosystem) brings together data management experts at the Montpellier campus around a one-stop support center for drafting data management plans (DMPs), depositing datasets on Research Gov, and getting started with the OPIDoR DMP. The Montpellier Institute of Data Science (ISDM) offers large-scale storage and scientific computing infrastructure for all communities, as well as support services (data clinics, training, events). Scientific Culture The dissemination of scientific culture involves the transfer of knowledge, techniques, and expertise between science and society. This is one of the missions of universities and is a proactive initiative that engages the University of Montpellier and its scientific community: researchers, Professors, doctoral students, etc. Learn more Research Ethics Committee (CER) of the University of Montpellier The Research Ethics Committee of the University of Montpellier was officially established on February 8, 2022. Its objective is to strengthen the mechanisms put in place by the University of Montpellier to promote awareness and the application of ethical and professional principles in response to the questions raised by scientific progress and its contemporary societal implications, regardless of the field of research. The Research Ethics Committee of the University of Montpellier is authorized to provide advisory ethical opinions on research projects and protocols across all scientific fields, particularly those involving human subjects, privacy issues, and personal data. Montpellier Universe and Particles Laboratory (LUPM)

Content type: Page
The Montpellier Universe and Particles Laboratory (LUPM) is dedicated to the study of the Universe as a whole and in its smallest dimensions. At LUPM, researchers and faculty members study fundamental building blocks—from the most elementary particles, atoms, and molecules to the largest and oldest gravitational structures, such as stars and galaxies. Organized into three scientific teams, the scope of research at LUPM is vast and covers broad areas of theoretical physics, fundamental and observational astrophysics, including the physics of the early universe, the study of elementary particle properties, the nature of dark matter, the sources of high-energy cosmic rays, the formation of the first molecules in the Universe, the structure and evolution of stars, as well as their interaction with the interstellar medium.
