The Institut de Science des Données de Montpellier (ISDM) is working to bring about a lasting transformation in scientific practices by orienting all players towards data science, and building an effective, sustainable environment. Federating, Innovating, Supporting ISDM supports scientific projects in their entirety thanks to an integrated, collaborative approach, offering : Training adapted to all levels, Local scientific and technical support, Networking and events to promote the circulation of knowledge. Our actions Project support We develop support systems tailored to the needs of scientific communities: Data Clinic: an innovative support system for researchers, PhD students, engineers and students. A permanent scientific staff is on hand to provide concrete support for community projects: personalized advice, help in solving technical problems, overcoming specific bottlenecks. The clinic can also actively collaborate with researchers to co-construct solutions tailored to their needs. Targeted expertise: our engineers are involved in (bio)Computing, (bio)Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, FAIR data management, etc. Find out more Skills training The short courses offered by ISDM are designed to support the development of research data management, analysis and enhancement practices. They are aimed at all profiles - researchers, engineers, PhD students or students - wishing to acquire or reinforce key data science skills. Each session combines a practical approach, accessibility and scientific expertise, around three main themes: Artificial intelligence: Explore the foundations and concrete applications of AI thanks to introductory and targeted training courses. Computing and reproducibility: Practical workshops to master the fundamental tools of collaborative development and guarantee the reproducibility of scientific analyses. Statistics, data management and analysis: Training courses to learn or perfect statistical methods applied to data science. Find out more Data services ISDM facilitates access to high-performance technical environments: Digital services: shared computing platforms, secure cloud, data anonymization tools, data sharing tools, data analysis tools (notebooks), etc. Best practices: support for the use of standards, metadata schemas, data structuring. Animation et Événements MBI (Montpellier BioInformatique): a network of bioinformatics players on the site, promoting exchanges, training and shared resources. Les Halles de l'IA: a space for innovation and scientific mediation dedicated to artificial intelligence, at the crossroads of science, society and interdisciplinarity. A place for experimentation, training and public debate, bringing together experts, expert and novice users, decision-makers, students, teachers and the general public.
