Agriculture, Environment, and Biodiversity (AEB)
Director: Daniel Barthélémy
This cluster brings together more than 3,000 permanent staff members from various research organizations such as BRGM, CIRAD, CNRS, IFREMER, INRAE, and IRD, as well as higher education institutions such as the University of Montpellier, Institut Agro / Montpellier SupAgro, and CIHEAM-IAMM.
Biology and Health (BS)
Director: Pierre-Emmanuel Milhiet
The research is organized around seven main thematic areas: Quantitative Biology, Oncology, Genetics and Epigenetics, Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Experimental and Regenerative Medicine, Neurosciences, and Health Technologies and Bioengineering.
Chemistry
Director: Joulia Larionova
The Research Cluster is one of five Research clusters Research University of Montpellier; it was established when the university was restructured and became an experimental public institution (EPE) on January 1, 2022. It is one of the largest centers in France working in the field of chemistry and its interdisciplinary areas.
The Research Cluster serves as a hub for scientific activities, fostering collaboration among research institutions and stakeholders, and acting as a center for scientific expertise to facilitate joint initiatives between the University and its partners.
Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Systems (MIPS)
Director: Stéphane Pagano
Its purpose is to serve as a platform for fostering synergy among research structures and scientific collaboration with a view to developing joint initiatives among I-SITE members. This cluster consists of 85% of the staff from the MIPS department at the University of Montpellier, and 15% from research units affiliated with research organizations such as INRIA, Institut Agro Montpellier, IRD, INRAE, and CIRAD.
Social Sciences (Soc)
Director: Irène Georgescu
The Social Research Cluster at the University of Montpellier serves as a hub for coordinating and fostering collaboration among research institutions and scholars in the fields of law, political science, economics, education, and management based in Montpellier.
