HydroSciences Montpellier (HSM)

HydroSciences Montpellier is a UM-CNRS-IRD laboratory that brings together expertise from various disciplines to study, quantify, and predict the impacts of climate and human activities on water resources in Mediterranean and tropical regions.
The main topics covered are:
- the water cycle and interactions at various scales within the atmosphere–vegetation–soil–aquifer–river system;
- the characterization and modeling of mass transfer in heterogeneous media;
- changes in water resources in the face of global changes, including complex future scenarios;
- the dynamics of metal and emerging contaminants, as well as the health risks and adaptive mechanisms of waterborne pathogenic bacteria.
