Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions (HPE)

The “Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions” (IHPE) laboratory is a Joint Research Unit Research UMR 5244) jointly administered by the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD), the National Center for Research (CNRS / INEE Institute), the French Research Institute Research Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer), and the University of Montpellier (UM). The laboratory’s staff are based on the campuses of the University of Perpignan Via Domitia and the University of Montpellier (Faculty of Sciences). The laboratory is a member of the Labex “Mediterranean Center for Environment and Biodiversity” (CeMEB) and “Toward a Unified Theory of Biotic Interactions: Role of Environmental Perturbations” (TULIP), and serves as a collaborating center for the WHO due to its expertise in host-schistosome interactions (FRA-69). Our UMR develops integrative approaches to interacting biological systems involving various species of invertebrates: invertebrates of medical or veterinary interest (gastropod mollusks), aquaculture (bivalve mollusks), or ecological interest (coral).
