Host-Pathogen Interactions Environments (HPIE)

The Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions Laboratory (IHPE) is a Joint Research Unit Research UMR 5244) supervised by the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD), the National Center for Research (CNRS / INEE institute), the French Research Institute Research Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer), and the University of Montpellier (UM). The laboratory's staff are based on the campuses of the University of Perpignan Via Domitia and the University of Montpellier (Faculty of Science). The laboratory is a member of the "Mediterranean Center for Environment and Biodiversity" (CeMEB) and "Towards a Unified Theory of Biotic Interactions: Role of Environmental Disturbances" (TULIP) labexes and is a WHO collaborating center for its expertise on host/schistosome interactions (FRA-69). Our UMR develops integrative approaches to interacting biological systems involving different species of invertebrates: invertebrates of medical or veterinary interest (gastropod mollusks), aquaculture (bivalve mollusks), and ecological interest (corals).
