Thematic Project: Sustainable Chemistry for Health (CARLA)

Objectives – Sustainable chemistry to address major societal challenges

TheCARLA Long-Term Thematic Project (PTL) has the following objectives:

  • Attract and train a new generation ofProfessors researchers andProfessors and perpetuate the scientific excellence of the cluster's teams;
  • To enhance the attractiveness of the site by leveraging other competitive, high-visibility funding, particularly national (CNRS, ANR, etc.) and European (MSCA, ERC, etc.);
  • To anchor sustainable development as a guiding principle in all supported scientific projects.
  • To anchor research at the regional and international levels.

Its ambition is to respond to societal challenges related to human health and the environment, and to place sustainable chemistry at the heart of the design of molecules, materials, and devices for health.

Call for Projects – Support mechanisms for emerging talent

To meet these ambitions, PTL CARLA relies on two annual calls for projects:

  • TALENTS: funding for four long-term fixed-term researcher contracts (18 months), with €8,000 in operating costs per contract.
  • NEXT: funding for twelve Master's 2 internships (6 months), including stipends and operating costs.

A mentoring program is offered to recipients of Master 2 internship scholarships (NEXT) with the following objectives:

  • Support for applications to competitive calls for proposals (MSCA, ERC, ANR, etc.);
  • Preparation and support for competitive examinations for permanent positions (CNRS, MCU, etc.).
  • Identifying thesis projects to be pursued within the Chemistry Division;
