HydroSciences Montpellier (HSM)

UMR 5569

HydroSciences Montpellier is a UM-CNRS-IRD laboratory that brings together disciplinary skills to study, quantify and forecast the impacts of climate and human activities on water resources in Mediterranean and tropical regions.

The main themes studied are :

  • the water cycle and interactions at different scales in the atmosphere - vegetation - soil - aquifer - river complex;
  • characterization and modeling of transfer in heterogeneous media;
  • the evolution of water resources in the face of global change, with complex prospective scenarios;
  • the dynamics of metallic and emerging contaminants and the health risks and adaptation mechanisms of waterborne pathogenic bacteria.
