Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions (HPEI)

The "Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions" laboratory (IHPE) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 5244) whose supervisory bodies are the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD), the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS / INEE institute), the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer) and the University of Montpellier (UM). The laboratory's staff are based on the campuses of the University of Perpignan via Domitia and the University of Montpellier (Faculty of Science). The laboratory is a member of the labex "Centre Méditerranéen Environnement et Biodiversité" (CeMEB) and "Vers une Théorie Unifiée des Interactions biotiques : rôLe des Pertubations environnementales" (TULIP), and is a WHO collaborating center for expertise on host/schistosome interactions (FRA-69). Our UMR develops integrative approaches to interacting biological systems involving different invertebrate species: invertebrates of medical or veterinary interest (gastropod molluscs), aquaculture (bivalve molluscs) or ecological interest (coral).
