Translational research on HIV and endemic and emerging infectious diseases (TransVIHMI)
The originality of the TransVIHMI UMI lies in its multidisciplinary approach, whose main initial objective is to study the specific features of HIV and associated diseases, in particular tuberculosis, in terms of their epidemiological, virological, bacteriological, parasitic, clinical and social aspects. The unit's thematic focus has shifted from HIV co-infection to non-HIV infections, and to Neglected and Emerging Tropical Diseases. More recent work has led to the development of a new line of research-intervention in response to epidemics (EBOLA).
