Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics and Microelectronics (LIRMM)
The Laboratoire d'Informatique, de Robotique et de Microélectronique de Montpellier (LIRMM) is a Unité Mixte de Research of the University of Montpellier (UM) and the Centre National de la Research Scientifique (CNRS). The laboratory is partnered by Inria, the Université Paul Valéry de Montpellier (UPV) and the Université de Perpignan (UPVD).
Its research activities place it at the heart of Information, Communication and Systems Science and Technology.
They are carried out by 3 scientific departments and 22 research teams, and cover Computer Science (algorithms and complexity, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, operations research, etc.), Robotics (robotics for the industry of the future, humanoid robotics and human-robot interaction, underwater exploration robotics, surgical robotics and medical devices) and Microelectronics (modeling, design, test, reliability, safety and energy efficiency of complex integrated electronic systems).
The LIRMM is home to over 400 people, including teacher-researchers and researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students, as well as IT and administrative staff.
