Responsibilities:
The DRED aims to implement the UM's policy on research and doctoral training, which is politically supported by the Vice President in charge of research. It has various missions:
- Overseeing research and doctoral studies to ensure consistency in scientific policy
- Overseeing the HCERES evaluation campaign: research and doctoral programs
- Overseeing and managing the Academic Research Committee, its office, and the committees within its scope: scientific integrity and conciliation.
- Ensure the coordination of research structures and resources
- Supporting managers in coordinating research resources
- Leading doctoral training
- Ensure the coordination and operation of doctoral studies and the HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or accreditation to supervise research)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards for doctoral programs
- Monitor scientific output and participate in the implementation of the open science plan
- Supporting the HR department in managing human resources for research
- Supporting the implementation of the charter on scientific integrity
- Design and implement measures to modernize research management
- Co-manage the Research IT Research department in partnership with the DSIN
- Addressing major societal challenges
- Ensure the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol within the university's ABS unit.
