Responsibilities:

The DRED aims to implement the UM's policy on research and doctoral training, which is politically supported by the Vice President in charge of research. It has various missions:

  • Overseeing research and doctoral studies to ensure consistency in scientific policy
  • Overseeing the HCERES evaluation campaign: research and doctoral programs
  • Overseeing and managing the Academic Research Committee, its office, and the committees within its scope: scientific integrity and conciliation.
  • Ensure the coordination of research structures and resources
  • Supporting managers in coordinating research resources
  • Leading doctoral training
  • Ensure the coordination and operation of doctoral studies and the HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches, or accreditation to supervise research)
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards for doctoral programs
  • Monitor scientific output and participate in the implementation of the open science plan
  • Supporting the HR department in managing human resources for research
  • Supporting the implementation of the charter on scientific integrity
  • Design and implement measures to modernize research management
  • Co-manage the Research IT Research department in partnership with the DSIN
  • Addressing major societal challenges
  • Ensure the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol within the university's ABS unit.
