Responsibilities:
The DRED is responsible for implementing the University of Marseille’s policy on research and doctoral education, which is overseen by the Vice President for Research. Its responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee research and doctoral studies to ensure consistency in scientific policy
- Oversee the HCERES evaluation campaign: research and doctoral components
- Oversee and manage the Academic Research Committee, its executive board, and the relevant subcommittees: scientific integrity and mediation
- Coordinate research facilities and resources
- Support managers in coordinating research resources
- Overseeing doctoral training
- Oversee the coordination and operation of the doctoral program and the HDR
- Ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 standard for doctoral programs
- Monitor scientific output and help implement the open science plan
- Provide support to the HR Department in managing human resources for research
- Support the implementation of the charter on scientific integrity
- Design and implement initiatives to modernize research management
- Co-manage the institution Research Information System in partnership with the DSIN
- Addressing major societal challenges
- Ensure the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol within the university’s ABS unit
