Emergencies - instructions in the event of accident or illness
Step 1: Dial 15 (ambulance) or 18 (fire department)
114 (emergency number only available in France) enables deaf and hard-of-hearing people to alert emergency services (SAMU, Fire Brigade, Police).
IMPORTANT :
- Inform emergency services of the address of the accident or illness
- a number where you can be reached
- the victim's condition
- don't hang up first
- guide rescuers on arrival
⚠ In the event of persistent risk, protect yourself and the victim from further accidents.
STEP 2: While waiting for help, call a first-aider at your site or your site's security control centre.

Heart attack
In the event of a heart attack, the University of Montpellier has defibrillators on its various sites.
Mild discomfort
Call 15 for a referral to the Service de Médecine Préventive (SCMPPS) for minor ailments.
Final step: the accident reporting procedure
For staff of the University of Montpellier
Any work stoppage related to an accident must be reported to your superiors within 48 hours. You have 15 days in which to complete the accident file by following the procedure.
Report the accident on the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) register available in each work unit.
For students enrolled at the University of Montpellier
You have 48 hours to draw up your accident report.
