Emergencies – instructions in case of accident or illness

Step 1: Dial 15 (emergency medical services) or 18 (fire department).

The 114 ( emergency number only available in France) allows deaf and hard-of-hearing people to alert emergency services (ambulance, fire department, police).

IMPORTANT:

  • Provide emergency services with the address of the accident or medical emergency location.
  • a number where we can reach you
  • the condition of the victim
  • do not hang up first
  • guide first responders upon arrival

If there is a persistent risk, protect the victim and yourself from any further accidents.

STEP 2: While waiting for emergency services, call a first responder at your site or the site's security control center.

Heart discomfort

In the event of cardiac distress, the University of Montpellier has defibrillators located across its various campuses.

Minor discomfort

On the 15th, they may refer you to the Preventive Medicine Service (SCMPPS) for minor ailments.

Last step: accident reporting procedure

For staff at the University of Montpellier 

Any work stoppage related to a work-related accident must be reported to management within 48 hours. You have 15 days to compile the work-related accident file by following the procedure.

Report the accident in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) logbook available in each work unit.

For students enrolled at the University of Montpellier

 You have 48 hours to file your accident report.
