Of Air and Wind
In 2026, MUMIG continues its collaboration with anthropologist Nastassja Martin on issues of habitability and our relationship with the elements in the Grands Causses. Following events focused on Earth and Water, this new event explores our relationship with Air and Wind.

This study day, open to everyone, will bring together the collections of the Musée de Millau et des Grands Causses, the region’s oral heritage, and scholarly work, particularly from the humanities and social sciences. Representing the University of Montpellier, the event will feature Clément Barniaudy (Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory in Didactics, Education, and Training – LIRDEF) and Olivier Obin, PAST (Santesih).
In the evening, a public event will expand on these reflections by exploring the relationships that other communities have with Air and Wind, from Provence to Colombia, via Georgia and the Andean highlands. The event is organized in collaboration with La Déménagerie, with support from the City of Millau, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and the University of Montpellier.
