Special meeting with Jakuta Alikavazovic – France Culture Student Novel Prize

As part of the 2025 literary season and the France Culture Student Novel Prize, Jean-Michel MARIN, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at Montpellier, and Sonia CHALBI, Arts,Culture, and Science, are pleased to announce the special visit of author Jakuta ALIKAVAZOVIC for a meeting with students and staff on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6:15 p.m. in lecture hall 36.01.

Novelist, translator, and columnist, Jakuta ALIKAVAZOVIC is a major voice in contemporary literature. Winner of the Prix Goncourt for first novels for Corps volatils and the Prix de la rentrée littéraire du Monde for L’avancée de la nuit, she was also a finalist for the Prix Médicis. This year, she is in the running for the Prix Femina and Prix Renaudot for her latest work, Au grand jamais.
A loyal supporter of the Comédie du Livre, which she has honored with her presence on several occasions and invited to the MOCO la Panacée in 2024 for the exhibition Entre les lignes. Art et littérature (Between the Lines: Art and Literature), she will this time be coming to talk to students and the public about her latest book, Au grand jamais (Never Ever), and her relationship with writing.
There will be time for discussion and questions from the audience at the end of the meeting.
The Fiers de Lettres bookstore will be present to offer books related to previous selections for the France Culture student novel prize.
This event is co-organized with the Joint Documentation Service and the Art & Culture Service of the Campus Life Department at the University of Montpellier.
