Today, there are many issues surrounding the production of big data (big data). Scientific research is obviously not immune to this phenomenon, which stems from the digital revolution and whose effects are evident from the very moment data is collected. The formulation of scientific hypotheses based on data analysis is becoming a standard practice in the production of scientific knowledge, thereby opening up new avenues for reflection on data acquisition, preservation, and archiving practices in order to make them “FAIR” (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable). These changes also affect the ways in which data is disseminated and utilized within the collaborative yet competitive landscape of scientific research. Building on these considerations and the many questions they raise (access/dissemination/sharing, scientific integrity, traceability, commercialization), the interdisciplinary project CommonData aims to begin, through this first seminar, by examining the concept of scientific data within a multidisciplinary context. The seminar will thus address, in turn, the issue of the life cycle of scientific data and the issue of the scientific nature of data.
This event is organized by Agnès ROBIN, (Assistant Professor – UMR 5815 (Dynamics of Law) at MSH-Sud as part of the CommonData project.
