Menstrual leave
The University of Montpellier is introducing menstrual leave to take into account the impact of menstrual periods that may occur during studies.
This measure allows those affected to take temporary leave from work, under certain conditions, in the event of menstrual-related disorders.

How does it work?
- Any menstruating person enrolled at UM in a national degree program may request an exemption from attendance due to menstrual disorders.
- The number of days of exemption from face-to-face teaching (lectures, tutorials, practicals, etc.) excluding scheduled assessments is set at 10 days for the current academic year, with a limit of two days per month (excluding any periods spent in a professional environment and exam periods).
- A possible extension of the days of absence may be granted on the advice of the preventive medicine service (Joint Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion Service).
- This service welcomes you and supports you in managing your disorders.
The procedure to follow
- Completethe sworn statement and send it to your UEI's registrar's office within 48 hours of the class in question.
- Beyond the authorized 10 days, consult the SCMPPS for medical advice.
