Launch of the future Vine & Wine building on the La Gaillarde campus

On this occasion, Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier, participated in the launch of a new building dedicated to training, research, and knowledge transfer in the field of viticulture and winemaking. The building, constructed on the Gaillarde campus, will aim to contribute to the growth of the viticulture and winemaking sector by creating a unique and innovative center of excellence. It will bring together the Institut Agro's vine and wine center and the Sciences pour l'œnologie (UMR SPO) research team, as well as professional partners from the sector. The 6,000 m² building will accommodate 100 scientists, 300 students, and more than 120 professional partners in this structure dedicated to research, training, and innovation.

This innovative project is in line with the main objectives of the university innovation hub, which are to promote Research and technology transfer. It represents a new opportunity for the region to "showcase the important role played by wine and vineyards in Montpellier and the surrounding area," said Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier, at the SITEVI research and innovation stand.
