The UM stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people
Message from President Philippe Augé
Our university, founded on democratic and humanist values, wishes to express its deep dismay and total disapproval of Russia's offensive in Ukraine. We wish to affirm our complete solidarity with the Ukrainian people and our unconditional support for the academic and scientific communities affected by this armed conflict.

Students and staff at UM affected by this conflict can contact us by email to be directed to support services.
In accordance with ministerial instructions, new bilateral collaboration projects with Russia and mobility programs to Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia are suspended.
We hope that we will quickly find a way for the founding principles of our civilization—human rights, respect for others, cooperation, knowledge and its sharing, etc.—to supplant this warmongering frenzy, but our concern remains extreme in this very dark period for Europe.
Philippe Augé
President of the University of Montpellier
