In the hallway ofPolytech Montpellier, a panel lists the career successes of students who have passed through the school. School spirit

Excellence comes at a price: selection. Recruited on the basis of a competitive entrance examination at bac +2, engineering students can also apply for a two-year preparatory course right after the bac. Here too, access is conditional on a highly selective competitive examination. Comprising 10 departments covering as many specialties, the training provided by the university school covers fields such as biological and food engineering, microelectronics and embedded systems, management information systems, mechanics, materials and water sciences... Training is provided by 130 teaching staff and almost 300 guest lecturers from the business world.

The aim: to adapt teaching to the demands of a market that is evolving at the speed of technological innovation. Here, the " school spirit " is not an empty word: students are treated as friends and family. It's a cocktail that makes Polytech one of the most relaxed training facilities in the UM. Polytech behind Kito de Pavant!

Since 2014, Polytech and the Languedoc sailor Kito de Pavant have been involved in a partnership around "Made in Midi", the
collaborative program to develop a boat cut out for the greatest sailing races.
A golden opportunity for the engineering students to take up a major technological challenge: to participate in the development of a boat capable of sailing for several months, non-stop, in the legendary Vendée Globe. Although the navigator was unlucky in 2017, being forced to abandon in the southern seas, the experience enabled Polytech students to put their knowledge into practice in the design of decision-making tools, the choice of materials and even the design of elements such as the rudder, made by a UM team including several Polytech students!
