Social FSDIE

The FSDIE social is a University of Montpellier scheme designed to provide occasional support to students in great financial difficulty or in precarious situations.

Funded by part of the CVEC (student life and campus contribution), it is implemented in partnership with the Crous. Assistance is granted, subject to eligibility, after an interview with the Crous social service and examination of the application by a commission. In particular, it helps students in the following areas:

  • Food-related expenses,
  • Housing expenses,
  • Travel as part of an internship or mobility program (in France or abroad),
  • Health expenses,
  • Study costs (excluding the purchase of computer hardware).

Food and hygiene product distribution

Once a week, free food distributions are organized by the UM BVE, in partnership with the Linkee association, for the student community in precarious situations. These distributions are organized alternately, every other week, at the MDE Françoise Barré-Sinoussi on the Triolet campus and at the Maison des étudiants Aimé Schoenig, on the Richter campus.

Occasionally, hygiene products, financed by the Occitanie region, are also offered during these food distributions.

Menstrual precariousness: RelaX

As part of the fight against menstrual insecurity, the University of Montpellier has set up the RelaX solidarity scheme. This program enables everyone to drop off sanitary protection for female students in specially designed bags. The RelaX bags are available in all the university's teaching departments, as well as in the Richter and Triolet student residences, at the (S)pace, and in the Sciences, Richter and Pharmacy university libraries.
