La Parenthèse

The association's activities and objectives

The missions of La ParenThèse, a non-profit association under the law of 1901, are :

  • combat student drop-out and loneliness when writing scientific papers (master's theses, doctoral dissertations);
  • accelerate their graduation;
  • foster their employability, notably by creating an interdisciplinary socio-professional network during the writing activity.

To achieve this, team members organize 3 types of event, bringing together between 10 and 15 student participants (face-to-face) and around 40 students (online).

These events are linked to a scientific production process:

  • writing events (writing days, writing stays and mini-ParenThèses);
  • mutual support and exchange events (Plume Doc workshops, Master Classes);
  • disconnection events (AfterThèse wilderness days).
