Educational innovation

Content type: Page
At the University of Montpellier, educational innovation is now a reality. The years of the I-SITE MUSE initiative have been instrumental in this regard. Innovating in education means driving a shift in the mindset of those involved in university teaching. It also means transforming the spaces where teaching takes place and, finally, experimenting with new and increasingly innovative methods. It represents a profound shift in the traditional paradigms of knowledge transmission, with the goal of fostering the professional development of faculty and involving students in this process. But innovation also means sharing and spreading, and for this, it is necessary to observe the transformations and measure the impacts of implementation. This pedagogical innovation is part of the training strategy led by the Presidency of the University of Montpellier and implemented by the VP CFVU. It is brought to life through the creation of the Joint Service for Pedagogical Innovation Support. The Center for Pedagogical Innovation Support (CSIP): A Catalyst for Change Building on the experience gained during the I-SITE MUSE years, the CSIP is firmly committed to supporting teachers and Professors to transform their teaching methods. The CSIP embodies a vision: while not rejecting traditional teaching methods, its mission centers on interactive pedagogies that bring together students, teachers, researchers, learning spaces, and technologies. The goal is to facilitate the co-construction of skills and knowledge. The CSIP upholds the value of implementing pedagogies centered on human interaction, as learning is a lifelong journey where a multitude of educational opportunities intersect, converge, and are shared. Finally, the CSIP represents an experimental approach, rooted in the reality of 21st-century education. Website The Observatory of Pedagogical Transformation (OTP) The OTP conducts studies to better understand the pedagogical practices of university faculty, how they are evolving, and what impact they have on student success. Students’ perceptions of pedagogical practices are central to these studies. They are carried out for the benefit of faculty and in collaboration with them. OTP website
