You are an exchange student

You are an exchange student and would like to study or do an internship at the University of Montpellier (Erasmus+ program, bilateral exchange, BCI program, etc.).

Erasmus+

Every year, the University of Montpellier welcomes many students through the Erasmus+ program across all its campuses. To participate in this program, you must be selected by your home university. Contact the international relations office at the campus corresponding to your field of study for information on the specific details of your exchange, such as housing in university residence halls, the academic calendar, and the study agreement.

INTER-UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS

The University of Montpellier has entered into partnership agreements with universities around the world.

Under these signed agreements, you can participate in a study abroad program lasting one or two semesters at our academic departments.

You must:

  • be enrolled at your home university;
  • Your application will be forwarded by the International Relations Office at your home university to the International Relations Office of the faculty or department;
  • enroll in the French student health insurance program, unless you present a European Health Insurance Card or the France-Québec SE401-Q106 form.

The benefits of the program:

  • waiver of tuition fees at the host university;
  • recognition by your home university of the coursework you completed at the University of Montpellier.
AS PART OF THE BCI

The University of Montpellier participates in the BCI student exchange program.

To participate in this program, you must:

  • Be enrolled at your home university;
  • Successful completion of two years of study (second year);
  • Be able to cover transportation and living expenses;
  • Be selected by your university;
  • Complete an academic agreement with the faculty advisor at your university and send it to the Office of International Affairs at the University of Montpellier.

Depending on available spots and the consistency of the study agreement, the application will be accepted or rejected. Accepted students will receive a letter of acceptance. The mobility period lasts one or two semesters.

The benefits of the program:

  • Tuition waivers at the University of Montpellier;
  • Recognition by your home university of the program you completed at the University of Montpellier;
  • Exemption from student health insurance in France upon submission of the France–Québec SE401-Q106 form.

You are an exchange student pursuing a degree

Before making arrangements for your arrival in France, please contact the Campus France office in your home country. If your country is on the Campus France list, the procedure requires that applications be submitted to Campus France before you can apply for admission to the University of Montpellier. Registration

Your application has been accepted by the University of Montpellier through the Etudes en France program. If you would like more information about the registration process, please contact the registrar’s office at your host department.

Tuition / Registration Fees

Tuition fees for a bachelor’s degree program are 170 euros per academic year, 243 euros for a master’s degree program, 601 euros for an engineering program at an institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, and 380 euros for a doctoral program.

Administrative procedures

We will assist you with the administrative procedures upon your arrival at the UM (registration, student ID card, orientation, etc.). Please contact your host department.

FINANCING EDUCATION AND CAREER COUNSELING
HEALTH

During the academic year, you will receive an invitation via your institutional email address at the University of Montpellier to attend a preventive health checkup at the Preventive Medicine Department. This appointment will provide an opportunity to review your health and receive information about healthcare services in France and in the city where you are studying. With this in mind, we encourage you to bring any records or documents related to your medical history in your home country (health checkups, vaccinations, copies of X-rays, etc.) when you come to France.
