Molecular Mechanisms in Neurodegenerative Dementias (MMDN)

The MMDN is an interdisciplinary laboratory dedicated to research on the biology of aging and neurodegenerative diseases.
We seek to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying normal and pathological aging and to propose new approaches for diagnosis and treatment.
Using animal models such as fruit flies, zebrafish, mice, and lemurs, and employing molecular biology, cell biology, and pharmacology approaches, we focus on neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), rare diseases, and spinal cord injury.
