Montpellier Environmental Research Observatory (OREME)
General overview
The Montpellier Environment Research Observatory (OREME) is an internal school of the University of Montpellier and a Universe Sciences Observatory (OSU). It brings together more than 1,200 scientists from the CNRS, UM, IRD, and INRAE, spread across eight laboratories.
OREME observes changes in the Earth, Water, Biodiversity, and the Universe. It collects, certifies, and provides reliable long-term environmental data. It supports scientists and decision-makers in analyzing this data, promotes its reuse, and disseminates it widely through scientific mediation and awareness-raising activities.
Understanding the changes in the world around us helps us adapt to them better.

Training courses
Dedicated to research and observation, the Observatory does not welcome students to its premises but participates in training courses in the Environmental Sciences department at the University of Montpellier. OREME contributes to the Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, which offers five-year higher education courses combining excellence in research and the transfer of knowledge to the professional world.
