Deciphering prejudice: The mechanisms of hatred and rejection
This event is over!
Opening of the event by Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier.
Speakers:
- Christèle Fraïssé, Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology;
- Maras, rapper and slammer, world freestyle rap vice-champion (2016) and French slam champion (2014).
In France, one in five students is a witness to LGBT+phobic insults. Why is this? What are the roots of this hatred? Is it really a phobia? The conference will address these essential questions to better understand how our society engenders discrimination and violence.
The event will close with an improvised rap synthesis, followed by a rap and beatbox concert. An original, hard-hitting approach to illustrating this theme, all while enjoying a rainbow-colored buffet.
Reserved for UM students and staff.
