Comic Books for Better Care

^First gathering of patient-comic book creators at the Montpellier School of Medicine

Three comic book creators—Alice Baguet, Olivia Hagimont, and Matthieu Blanchin—agreed to visit and lead discussions and workshops with students at the University of Montpellier at the invitation of narrative medicine instructors from the Faculty of Medicine and other faculty members who regularly use comic books as teaching tools.

Each of the three guests has published a comic book that draws on their personal healthcare journeys and their relationship with medicine—addressing different health issues, yet sharing certain common experiences—and which highlights the universal nature of the caregiver-patient relationship.

Friday, June 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., come meet Alice Baguet, Olivia Hagimont, and Matthieu Blanchin for book signings and discussions at the booths of healthcare students, university libraries, and a bookseller who will be present all day.

To wrap up the day, a public discussion will be held in the late afternoon in the anatomy lecture hall of the Faculty of Medicine’s historic building.
